Amidst the gloomy outlook over the past few days (being down with flu and all) I received some good news which cheered me up a little. I submitted 4 images for the International Photography Awards (IPA) a few months back, of which 2 of them received Honorable Mention! Obviously it is disappointing not to get the top prizes but considering there were nearly 15,000 submissions from 103 countries across the globe. Coming up against so many top photographers worldwide and appearing in the honorable mention list ain’t too shabby anymore if you ask me :)

IPA is a sister-effort of the Lucie Foundation, where the top three winners are announced at the annual Lucie Awards gala ceremony. The Foundation’s mission is to honor master photographers, to discover new and emerging talent and to promote the appreciation of photography. Since 2003, IPA has had the privilege and opportunity to acknowledge and recognize contemporary photographers’ accomplishments in this specialized and highly visible competition. Visit www.photoawards.com for more details.

Here are the 2 shots that got into the Honorable Mention list.

Honorable Mention in People – Children category for the winning entry “Joy”

Honorable Mention in People – Wedding category for the winning entry “Unwavering Love”

My wife and I have decided to embark on our 2nd honeymoon to Paris, in May 2010 & we would like to invite you lovebirds to walk down the streets of Old Paris with us, as we breathe in the romance and capture the charms of one of the most lovely city in the world.

We are offering a fantastic package for couples who wish to have their Bridal / Casual Portrait Sessions in the City of Lights. How fantastic you might ask? Well, let’s just say that, since we are going there with or without you, the photographer’s airfare is pretty much out of the equation. Sounds good? Well it is! haha

Do note though that slots are limited as we are taking up a maximum of 3 couples only at the end of our personal trip, with the photoshoot dates estimated to be between 15 – 18 May.

For those interested, drop me a MAIL immediately as we will be confirming our flights before the end of February.

I am back in SG and is very happy to announce that while I was away in Melbourne, I attained my associateship with MPA (Master Photographer Association), when a panel of esteemed judges passed the set of images which I had prepared beforehand.

Major bummer that I was unable to be there personally for the judging, but I have learnt lots throughout the preparation process, which should stand me in good stead.

Special thanks to Ryan Wong, William Ng, James Tan and Joho who gave me pointers here and there, which will benefit me to no end in the future.

Big thanks to all my couples, your love drives me on each day.

Thanks to every photographer out there who inspires me with their gorgeous works.

Lastly, thanks to my wifey, who had to endure many nights without me by her side due to my work and preparation for the grading, I love you dearie!

Dear All.

Joho and I will be away in Melbourne for a week or so. Do continue to send in those inquiries as we should still have internet access in the land down under. Have a great week ahead, and best of luck to all the guys going for MPA grading this year!

Some of my brides complained of lack of updates on my blog recently

and my reply was…

NO TIME! hahaha

Which is really the case now as I am swamped with work everyday.

On a sidenote, I am really looking forward to the Melbourne trip coming up end of the month, because I am extending my stay there after helping Joho with bridal photoshoots, and gonna rest there for a few days with my wife (my only real break for more than a year, after my planned hong kong trip back in august went up in smokes partly due to H1N1 and my delayed house reno).

Anyway, you can keep up with our updated works by becoming our Fan in facebook. And I usually posts some works there whenever i can as it’s a lil easier than updating my blog.

That’s not to say I will forget about my blog completely as I still see the blog as my main channel to communicate my thoughts and works, plus… I am a very sentimental guy so the blog is here to stay forever! hehe. Just bear with me through this few busier months alright :)

Anyway, here’s 3 shots from Jeff & Diana’s wedding yesterday. Thanks guys for having me at your wedding and although I ain’t gonna be able to touch on your photos until quite a bit later, hopefully the 3 shots can satisfy u for a while ya! haha…  and Diana, rest well, drink more fluids and hope u recover soon :)

Mid-autumn festival is always a joyous occasion, as families gather to enjoy mooncakes & pomelos while admiring the full moon.

Although I will not be able to spend the day with my family, I am still happy that I will be able to witness a wonderful couple, Jenny & Gerald’s wedding. And I am very sure we will have a smashing time! :D

In conjunction with such a happy occasion, Jonathan and myself have come up with an exciting new promo, which I believe, will put a big smile on many soon to be bride and grooms.

That’s right, we are going to offer 15% OFF the total bill, for all new couples who sign up with us, for local weddings/bridals between now and 31st Dec 2010 (Terms & Conditions applies). This will be an ongoing offer until 2010 at least. But that’s not all! Enjoy an additional 5% OFF, if you sign up with us before 30 Nov 2009. So hurry and send us those inquiries, before all the hot dates are booked up.
