Diablo 1 & 2 rocked! And I am so excited that D3 is launching tonight! But this will prob be the first time I won’t be playing the game. It’s a sad thought :(

Maybe when I let go of the shackles of growing up and responsibilities, will I be reborn, a boy again.

Your wedding day means the world to us.

Not only do we work our hardest to get you images that will last you a lifetime, we strive to ensure that none of the shots that matter goes missing.

After the wedding, we will never linger around or go partying and get ourselves dead drunk. Instead, we will hurry back to our office in double quick time, and backup all the shots, on multiple hard disks on our workstation. A copy also goes onto our RAID Network Attached Server, which will still run smoothly, even if 2 of the hard disks in there crash. A final copy onto a Blu-ray Disc is burnt, and the disc kept off-site, in case anything bad happens to my office.

Short of going into the clouds, that’s like an almost bullet proof system for the storage of your wedding day images.

Keyword here, being almost. Granted, some studios probably don’t even have such a strong system for data storage, but as I always tell everyone, there’s no true perfection in this world, and the only thing we can and must do, is to always strive to do whatever we can, as best as we can at any given time.

With the new set of cameras (The Canon EOS 5D mk III) I purchased recently, there’s now the possibility of writing images onto 2 memory cards concurrently. Which also means redundancy at the point of photographing the momentous shot. That function to me is a god sent, as no matter how good my backup system is previously, there’s still the possibility of memory cards malfunctioning for whatever weird reason (yes, memory cards, like hard disks are temperamental and may fail on you for no good reason). Thank god my cards has never turn on me so far, and touch wood that won’t happen my lifetime. But the fact is we can never know, and we can only pop the cards into our camera and pray.

With the introduction of the extra card slot in the new cameras, I can rest easy a wee bit more, as I can always fall back on the other card, if really anything bad does happen to one of them. Of course, my theory of no perfection still holds true, and something could still happen to the camera and it in turn corrupts both cards at the same time! But that’s really reaching, and like I said, as long as we try our best, we can only leave the rest up to fate.

In an attempt to leave as little to chance, I recently purchased a truck load of Sandisk Extreme SD cards from my own pocket money, and will use a new pair of cards for every wedding couple with the cards kept in storage after the wedding, at another off-site location. All these, at no additional charges to our esteemed clients. Like I said, your wedding means the world to us, and it wouldn’t be right if we did not try to keep it that way.

I’ve had the new Wacom Intuos 5, professional pen tablet for just over a week, and I must say this new tool of mine is a great work of art, or should I say, great tool to create art!

Not only does it look good, it feels really great to the touch also. Having personally owned the previous iteration of the Wacom tablet, I can safely say that the newer version is a nice improvement from the Intuos 4.

Professionals have always turned to the ever reliable Intuos series for precision drawing / image editing. All the defining qualities like the 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity, immaculate accuracy even when you decide to swing your pen around at high speed, has long been known and it’s great to know that not much has changed and the 5, is still pretty much the same product we’ve grown to love.

We are looking at an evolution of an already fantastic product, and the Intuos 5 certainly did not disappoint.

The new tablet drops the glossy side panel of the express keys and touch ring, for a matte rubber coated shell, which instantly makes it look way sexy and much better to the touch also. The niftiest change from the last version would be the decision to drop the hardware user display (for the express keys) and opting for an on screen display instead. Hover your finger around the express keys, and the On Screen Display will instantly show you what settings are activated. It saves me the need to glance down at the tablet to check my settings, and I really enjoyed the improved user experience.

While the touch interface (which first appeared on the Wacom Bamboo) also makes an appearance, I wouldn’t say that it’s a feature I would be using extensively. It is a nice addition though, and I have been using it sparingly to browse websites, or make use of the multi-touch features to pinch & zoom while going thru images. Not really an option for more extensive graphic work definitely.

The one thing I missed from the Intuos4, would be the 2 usb ports (previously there were 2 ports, one for right handed users and the other for the lefties). One of my ports broke before, while transporting the tablet and I was lucky to still be able to make use of the other available port. I can’t imagine having to shell out hundreds of dollars to get a new Tablet just because of a damaged USB port. There is just 1 port this time round, which means I have to be extra careful with the Matte beauty. But this isn’t a flaw, and I would highly recommend the new Tablet to anyone out there who wants to bring their graphic work to a whole new level.

I missed my daughter so much when I was away in Paris for close to 2 weeks. She’s at such an adorable age (17 months), and if I could, I just wanna be with her 24/7. Here’s a short clip of her doing her “I’m a Little Teapot” bit.

A not so often covered location of Paris. The futuristic looking world at La Defense, in stark contrast to the romantic streets of old Paris. Thanks so much to the adventurous couple, Ryan and Jessie for bearing the cold with us to get these wonderful alternative images. We almost freezed our asses off so I made pretty damn sure the images turned out great.

Also special mention goes out to Sweet Affinity Bridal for loaning us the beautiful gown for this particular photo shoot.

Finally done with the Photo shoots in Paris! This time round, the weather was very kind to us, and we barely had any rain (much thanks to Ryan for his sun dance) for all the days that we were working. In fact, there was even a couple of days when the sky was oh so blue-tiful.

Next up, looking forward to a few days of nice shopping time with wifey around the City of Light, before we head back to Sunny Singapore for more wedding assignments and most importantly to hug our lovely baby girl! How we miss her so :)

Anyway, here’s a sneak peak of how Christopher and Julia owned Paris! More images coming your way soon.
